ROLE SUMMARY
The Physical Security SOC Operator will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, documenting, and escalating physical security incidents across Warner Bros. Discovery facilities and operations. The role requires continuous monitoring of CCTV systems, access control platforms, alarm systems, life-safety systems, and other security technologies to ensure timely response to security events and operational disruptions.
The successful candidate will work closely with site security teams, facilities management, emergency responders, business stakeholders, and corporate security leadership to maintain a safe and secure operating environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Physical Security Monitoring & Incident Management
- Monitor CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, panic alarms, life-safety systems, and other physical security platforms.
- Identify, assess, and respond to suspicious activities, security incidents, unauthorized access attempts, and emergency situations.
- Conduct initial incident assessment and determine appropriate escalation paths.
- Coordinate with on-site security personnel and relevant stakeholders during security events.
- Maintain continuous situational awareness of facilities and critical operations.
Emergency Response Coordination
- Support emergency response activities for medical incidents, fire alarms, facility disruptions, workplace violence concerns, and other critical events.
- Initiate emergency notification and escalation procedures as required.
- Coordinate communication between security personnel, facilities teams, and management during incidents.
- Monitor incidents through resolution and ensure proper documentation.
Access Control & Security Systems Management
- Monitor and administer access control requests and alarm events.
- Verify access-related incidents and investigate unauthorized access attempts.
- Support visitor management processes and credential-related inquiries.
- Ensure proper operation of physical security systems and escalate technical issues when identified.
Operational Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily activity reports, incident summaries, and shift handover reports.
- Maintain detailed incident logs and case documentation.
- Record security events accurately within reporting and case management systems.
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders regarding ongoing incidents and operational concerns.
Compliance & Process Adherence
- Follow established corporate security procedures and SOC operating protocols.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in emergency exercises, security drills, and business continuity activities.
- Support security audits, investigations, and compliance reviews as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Security Operations Skills
- Hands-on experience with:
- Security platforms: ServiceNow, Everbridge, Ontic, Genetec, ACRE Feenics, CCURE & Lenel
- Security equipment: CCTV, access control, alarms, FACP panels.
- Understanding of physical security principles and corporate security operations.
- Experience monitoring CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, and security management platforms.
- Knowledge of incident management and emergency response procedures.
- Familiarity with visitor management and access control processes.
- Understanding of workplace security, life-safety, and crisis management concepts.
Analytical Skills
- Ability to assess incidents and prioritize response actions.
- Strong observation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to identify anomalies and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Communication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to document incidents accurately and professionally.
- Comfortable communicating with security personnel, employees, vendors, and management teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Physical Security SOC, GSOC (Global Security Operations Center), Command Center, Corporate Security Operations, or related environment.
- Experience working within a 24x7 operational environment.
- Exposure to multinational corporate security programs.
- Experience supporting large-scale facilities, corporate campuses, or media/entertainment environments.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
One or more of the following certifications would be advantageous:
- ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP)
- ASIS Associate Protection Professional (APP)
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) – desirable
- Emergency Response or Incident Management Certifications
- Security Systems or Access Control Platform Certifications
