Overview
Join the $56 billion Global Fixed Income team as a Portfolio Manager with responsibility for leading Asian macro strategy and portfolio positioning across Asian interest rates and foreign exchange, including trading. This is a senior investment role with clear accountability for generating differentiated ideas, managing regional risk, trade execution, and influencing portfolio construction across global government and multi-sector fixed income strategies.
Based in Singapore and reporting to the Head of Global Macro Strategy, the individual will work closely with global fixed income portfolio managers, traders, and analysts based in the US and Europe to translate regional market views into positive portfolio outcomes for our clients. The ideal candidate will also have experience communicating investment views to clients, prospects, and consultants to support asset growth and reinforce Allspring’s position as a leading global fixed income manager.
We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week.

Responsibilities
- Assume direct portfolio management responsibility for Asian macro exposures across rates and foreign exchange, including idea generation, trade execution, position sizing, and ongoing risk oversight.
- Lead regional input into portfolio strategy and asset allocation discussions by presenting high-conviction views on central banks, inflation, growth, policy developments, valuations, and market technicals across Asia.
- Manage and monitor regional risks, scenario analysis, liquidity considerations, and performance attribution to ensure positions are aligned with portfolio objectives and risk parameters.
- Identify relative-value and directional opportunities across yield curves, duration, currencies, and cross-market relationships, and partner with analysts and portfolio managers on efficient implementation.
- Build and refine analytical tools, market frameworks, and decision-support materials that strengthen portfolio construction, improve risk-adjusted returns, and enhance the team’s macro investment process.
- Represent the team’s investment views externally through client meetings, prospect discussions, consultant reviews, written commentary, and presentation materials, with a focus on supporting and growing assets under management.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of relevant experience in portfolio management, macro strategy, rates and FX trading, or a related institutional fixed income role, with meaningful experience covering Asian markets.
- Demonstrated track record of generating and managing investment positions across interest rates and foreign exchange, including clear evidence of portfolio impact and risk-aware decision-making.
- Deep knowledge of Asian developed and emerging market fixed income and currency markets, including central bank frameworks, fiscal and external dynamics, local market structure, and the principal drivers of cross-market performance.
- Strong portfolio construction and risk management capabilities, including position sizing, relative-value analysis, scenario analysis, stress testing, liquidity assessment, and performance attribution.
- Ability to present investment views with conviction and clarity in portfolio meetings and to communicate effectively with clients, prospects, consultants, and senior business partners.
- Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong technical aptitude and comfort working across portfolio analytics, risk systems, and market data tools.
- Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in economics, finance, public policy, or a related field.
- CFA designation or progress towards attaining the CFA designation.
- Established client-facing experience, including participation in business development, consultant presentations, and senior institutional client dialogue.
- Programming experience in Python or a similar language, and familiarity with derivatives, local market conventions, and execution practices across Asian fixed income and FX markets.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools to enhance portfolio outcomes through process improvements and insight generation.
