We’re Hitachi Vantara, the data foundation trusted by the world’s innovators. Our resilient, high-performance data infrastructure means that customers – from banks to theme parks – can focus on achieving the incredible with data.
If you’ve seen the Las Vegas Sphere, you’ve seen just one example of how we empower businesses to automate, optimize, innovate – and wow their customers. Right now, we’re laying the foundation for our next wave of growth. We’re looking for people who love being part of a diverse, global team – and who get excited about making a real-world impact with data.
The Team:
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Solutions Engineer to bridge the gap between complex cloud infrastructure technologies and real-world customer solutions. In this role, you will design, build, and implementation-test cutting-edge platform architectures that blend traditional virtualization with modern cloud-native ecosystems.
You will work closely with engineering teams and enterprise customers to architect, automate, and deploy resilient infrastructure stacks across bare-metal, virtualized, and containerized environments.
The Role :
Architecture & Deployment: Design and implement robust infrastructure solutions leveraging both container orchestration (Kubernetes) and traditional cloud computing platforms (OpenStack).
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of complex environments using Terraform and Ansible to ensure repeatable, error-free deployments.
Hybrid Virtualization: Bridge the gap between legacy VMs and modern containers by deploying and managing KVM and Kube-virt solutions.
Automation & Scripting: Write clean, maintainable Python and Bash scripts to automate routine tasks, build internal tools, and integrate disparate systems.
Infrastructure Management: Optimize and troubleshoot core compute resources, storage architectures, and networking layers to ensure high availability and performance.
Technical Consultation: Act as a trusted technical advisor to stakeholders, translating complex infrastructure requirements into scalable engineering designs.
What you'll bring:
Containerization & Virtualization
Kubernetes: Deep, production-grade experience with K8s orchestration, architecture, and ecosystem tools.
OpenStack: Proven track record of deploying, configuring, and managing OpenStack components.
KVM & Kube-virt: Strong understanding of kernel-based virtual machines (KVM) and experience running traditional virtual machines inside Kubernetes clusters using Kube-virt.
Automation & IaC
Scripting: Proficiency in Python and Bash for system automation and tool development.
Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with Terraform (for provisioning) and Ansible (for configuration management).
Core Infrastructure
Compute: In-depth knowledge of physical/virtual compute resource management and optimization.
Storage: Strong understanding of storage technologies, including Storage Area Networks (SAN) and local disk technologies (NVMe, SSD, RAID configurations).
Networking: Solid foundation in networking concepts, specifically Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 3 (L3) protocols, switching, routing, and software-defined networking (SDN).
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications (e.g., CKA/CKAD, OpenStack Professional, AWS/GCP/Azure Architect).
Experience in a customer-facing technical role (Pre-sales, Solutions Architecture, or Professional Services).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex, distributed systems.
