The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Local Operating Unit Quality Manager to lead quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence for GPQSS Australia. You will drive project quality, customer satisfaction, supplier and subcontractor performance, compliance, and a strong prevention-focused quality culture.
The role reports functionally to the Hub Quality & CI Manager and administratively to the Local Operations Manager.
How you will make an impact
Leading Quality & Continuous Improvement strategy deployment across the local operating unit.
Driving project quality, audit readiness, compliance, and certified Quality Management Systems.
Championing the Voice of the Customer by turning feedback into practical improvement actions.
Managing non-conformances, complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
Leading Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize processes.
Providing KPI reporting, governance insights, and quality analytics to support leadership decisions.
Coaching teams and build quality capability across the organization.
Develop organizational quality capability through coaching, mentoring, and training; support succession planning and talent development; promote a proactive, prevention-focused, and customer-centric quality culture; and lead change management activities aligned with strategic priorities.
Your background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
15+ years’ experience in Quality Management, Project Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or Quality Leadership.
Experience in the power, grid, transformers, high voltage, EPC, engineering, or similar industrial sectors.
Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, audits, compliance, RCA, CAPA, Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead transformation across complex or multi-country environments.
You are a senior quality professional with strong customer focus, continuous improvement mindset, stakeholder influence, and the ability to coach teams through complex operational challenges.
