MUFG Securities is seeking an Associate to join their Asia Global Structured Solutions team based in Hong Kong. What you'll do:
As an Associate in the Global Structured Solutions team based in Hong Kong, you will play a pivotal role within a collaborative team dedicated to delivering tailored financing solutions for financial sponsor clients in APAC.
Your day-to-day activities in this role will include:
Conducting thorough analysis of target companies’ industries, financial performance, and operational metrics to form an informed perspective on credit risk, leverage ratios, and debt capacity.
Performing detailed valuation analyses using multiple methodologies such as discounted cash flow models, market comparables, and precedent transaction reviews to support deal structuring.
Undertaking comprehensive due diligence processes covering financial, market, and legal aspects to ensure robust risk assessment and informed decision-making.
Assisting in negotiating and executing complex financing agreements and legal documentation in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors.
Liaising effectively with stakeholders including clients, legal counsel, rating agencies, and other advisors throughout all stages of transaction execution.
Preparing high-quality presentation materials such as pitch decks, review memoranda, and periodic risk updates for both internal committees and external clients.
Managing deal logistics by coordinating timelines, information flow, and deliverables during live transactions to ensure seamless execution.
Supporting new product approval initiatives by preparing necessary documentation and facilitating internal coordination among relevant departments.
Monitoring portfolio positions regularly by updating key metrics and providing timely reports to management on ongoing exposures.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following education and work experience:
3-5 years of experience within investment banking or related fields with demonstrated expertise in analysing financial statements and capital structures.
In-depth familiarity with loan documentation, bond covenants, rating agency criteria, and special purpose vehicle structures relevant to structured finance transactions.
Proven ability to manage multifaceted transactions involving numerous stakeholders while maintaining meticulous attention to detail throughout each phase.
Excellent communication abilities enabling effective collaboration with clients as well as internal teams across different functions.
Analytical mindset complemented by sensitivity towards risk factors inherent in complex deal structuring environments.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) along with practical experience utilising Bloomberg terminals for research purposes.
Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a closely related discipline.
