Description:What You Will Be Doing
Join Lockheed Martin’s NDT Engineering team, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Fifth Generation Fighters, including the F-35 and F-22, as well as the F-16 and advanced development programs. In this dynamic position, you will leverage your NDT expertise to develop and implement innovative techniques that span the entire life cycle of aircraft—from design and production through to field sustainment and retirement.
Our team is responsible for all Nondestructive Testing, ensuring the structural integrity and airworthiness of our aircraft. We utilize advanced inspection technologies, including Laser Ultrasonics, which is unique to Lockheed Martin and utilized by only a handful of companies worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
• Utilize your technical expertise in NDT, with certifications in methods such as Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, engineering, programs, and suppliers throughout the NDT process.
• Design, develop, and implement NDT methodologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Prepare, revise, and review NDT material/process specifications and technique sheets.
• Design and assess NDT equipment and inspection reference standards.
• Validate non-destructive callouts on engineering drawings.
• Participate in the development of NDT training course material for Level I, II, and III
• Testing and certifying NDT level II and III inspectors in accordance with NAS-410 and company requirements.
• Ensure NDT compliance for all methods performed in production at LM Aero sites.

Basic Qualifications:• Certifiable to Level III in at least 3 methods including RT and UT
• Minimum 3 years professional experience working in a production environment
• Capability to acquire ASNT certification within 2 years
• Experience training NDT Inspectors
• Experience using automated and/or robotic inspection systems
• Experience with NDT of Castings, weldments, and composite structures
• Experience working on a NDT team as a lead or one of the lead technicians
• Familiarity with Computed Radiography (CR) or Digital Radiography (DR)
• Familiarity with industry NDT standards (ASTM, AMS,…)
Desired Skills:• ASNT Level III certifications
• Certifiable in Magnetic Particle Testing
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline
• Radiographer Trainer card
• State of Texas Radiation Safety License
• Experience working in a unionized environment
• Prior experience in procuring NDI capital equipment
• Experience managing record retention & data archival for production records
• Experience working on a NDT team as a lead or one of the lead technicians
• Experience with computer aided design software

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
