We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
Business: CTO Data Technology
Principal responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and Core Java.
- Deliver cloud-ready services on Amazon Web Services (AWS), using services such as API Gateway and serverless components where appropriate.
- Model and optimise data access using MongoDB (and other enterprise databases as needed) to support reliable API performance.
- Collaborate with product, front-end and testing teams to refine requirements and deliver well-engineered solutions end to end.
- Improve quality through code reviews, automated testing, and clear API documentation for internal consumers and partner teams.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise API services in production, addressing performance, reliability and security issues.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience building APIs and services with Spring Boot and Core Java, including REST principles and integration patterns.
- Experience working with MongoDB and designing efficient data models and queries.
- Working knowledge of cloud engineering on AWS and operating services in production environments.
- Good understanding of software delivery practices, including Agile delivery and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform impact analysis and produce high- and low-level designs.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and locations.
