What you will do:
Global Trade Solutions (GTS) comprises over 4,500 people across more than 50 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe and Asia.
The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for the successful implementation of our GTS Product strategy in Europe. This includes Commercializing our Proposition, maintaining and enhancing existing products, implementing new solutions, deploying new IT platforms, integration with third party suppliers, coordinating delivery across HBCE and branches and ensuring the proper governance is in place.
In this role you will:
- Manage the creation, development and conduct governance of all GTS Product suite with particular emphasis on emerging Structured Finance solutions: Inventory Finance, Contract Monetisation, Portfolio RF, Asset Based Lending…
- Manage the marketing and communication Product agenda to provide creative means for improving client and staff awareness.
- Ensure that existing proprietary systems remain fit for purpose through a constant process of functional enhancement and targeted to appropriate segments to increase digital client engagement
- Manage the development and implementation of the product strategy across the region with particular focus on improving the client User Experience (UX)
- Drive and focus on increasing product profitability for HBCE GTRF inventory, ensuring effective use of Risk Weighted Assets
- Maintain Regional financial accountability for the economic profit derived from these products, controlled to ensure they satisfactorily contribute to overall customer profitability.
- Ensure product designs create competitive advantages and withstand competitive threats. Sponsor product development and regional processing initiatives in response to market changes and/or identified opportunities.
- Lead the ongoing developments of core Trade and Structured Finance legal documentation - both in the context of newly developed products and in client implementations.
- Oversee provision of product awareness training for sales, client managers, bankers, service and other personnel.
- Work closely with Group entities in other regions to ensure adoption of best practices and reflect the global nature of the GTS business
You should apply if you have:
- Deep knowledge of Trade Finance Solutions, special focus on Structured Trade Finance
- Experience in Product related roles or having collaborated in Trade Product initiatives.
- Curious mindset with a clear focus on overcoming inefficiencies, managing risks and replicating successful solutions.
- Clear ability to manage stakeholders across frontline coverage, risk management, governance through the global product design and implementation, ensuring we are clearly aligned on commerciality of our product offering and client delivery channels whilst keeping risk within our appetite.
- A strong interest in digital and game-changing (or emerging) technologies (Blockchain, AI..)
- Awareness of the principal Trade Finance market Trends in Europe
- Project management experience
- Proactive attitude, keen to learn and flexibility to adapt for business requirements
- Being able to work independently and under pressure whilst using strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve complex problems, manage ambiguity, and adhere to timelines, ensuring high quality output. Ability to filter and prioritise multiple demands, resolve conflicts, and develop consensus
- Excellent written and oral communication; ability to articulate and detail, if necessary, issues to all levels
- Team player
- Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point
