Your Mission
Join ClearEdge as a Senior Software Engineer, where you will lead day-to-day delivery for one of our core AI-enabled products, guiding a small team while remaining hands-on and a key member of the implementation. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement scalable, secure, high-performing services, including AI-assisted capabilities that support automated analysis and decision support alongside comprehensive UI/UX development and functionality.
You will play a key role in developing and implementing our AI-enabled product while collaborating closely with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into intuitive, high-impact solutions.
You Will Excel in This Role If You Are:
Experienced leading small engineering teams while remaining a primary implementor, spending the large majority of your time hands-on
Skilled in full-stack development — language secondary, though you'll ship quickly in TypeScript, Python, and React
Fluent with AI-native IDEs and comfortable using them as your default way of working
Strong in version control habits
Comfortable working in hybrid (on-prem/cloud) and air-gapped deployment environments
Practical experience with containers
Familiar with production cross-cutting concerns: identity/SSO, RBAC, audit logging, encryption, and observability
Experienced guiding engineers through code review, conventions, and pairing
Capable of gathering requirements and communicating status to stakeholders
A Day in the Life:
Lead development of a customer-specific implementation within the platform's architecture baseline
Remain a primary implementor while directing a small team (2–6 engineers)
Make account-specific technical trade-off decisions, coordinating with technical leadership on platform-level questions
Gather requirements, prioritize delivery work, and communicate status to customer-facing stakeholders and internal leadership
Guide engineers through review, conventions, and pairing
Own releases end-to-end, including delivery into hybrid and air-gapped environments
What We Are Expecting From You:
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance; U.S. citizenship
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or similar (4 years of experience may substitute)
10+ years of experience in the design, development, and deployment of software systems
Fluency with AI-native IDEs
Strong version control habits
Understanding of hybrid deployment (on-prem and cloud), including air-gapped deployment
Practical experience with containers
Skilled in at least two mainstream programming languages — language is secondary; expect to ship quickly in TypeScript, Python, and React, using tech like Postgres, RAG, and vector stores
Familiarity with production cross-cutting concerns: identity/SSO/OAuth/OIDC, MFA, RBAC, session management, audit logging, encryption, object + relational storage, APIs, CI/CD, and observability
Experienced across all phases of the software development lifecycle
Experience gathering requirements, prioritizing delivery work, and communicating status to stakeholders
Spends roughly 90% of time on hands-on implementation while guiding 2–6 engineers via review, conventions, and pairing; owns releases end-to-end
Experience providing technical direction and leadership to less experienced staff
Nice to Have:
Tech-lead experience on multi-service products
Generative AI / agentic feature delivery experience
Experience supporting RMF/ATO (security control evidence, finding remediation, accreditation documentation)
Experience with physical security or facility accreditation practices, such as ICD 705 or similar frameworks
Familiarity with tools used by security and compliance teams
