Your Mission
Join ClearPoint as a Secure Building Engineer, where you will lead and execute the operational, maintenance, and improvement efforts across a portfolio of secure facilities in Maryland. You will ensure our facilities are maintained at the highest standard of quality, safety, security, and service — delivering well-functioning environments for customers and team members.
This position involves hands-on maintenance and repair across general building systems and maintenance; leading electrical infrastructure projects and outages; overseeing contractors; and providing senior technical guidance to other team members. You'll bring a proactive, solutions-driven approach to both daily operations and long-term facility resiliency.
You Will Excel in This Role If You Are:
A hands-on engineer who is equally comfortable performing general building maintenance and leading complex electrical work
A licensed Master Electrician with broad working knowledge across building infrastructure systems
Experienced with mission-critical systems: switchgear, generators, UPS, and automatic transfer switches
Confident diagnosing and resolving complex failures, electrical or otherwise, under pressure
Organized and accountable, with strong ownership over reliability, code compliance, and building condition
Comfortable mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians
Flexible and dependable when responding to after-hours or emergency issues, electrical or general
Committed to excellence, safety, and upholding ClearPoint's values in every task
A Day in the Life:
Oversee and perform preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and operational inspections across all building systems and grounds
Serve as the senior technical authority for electrical systems, including switchgear, distribution, feeders, transfer switches, generators, and UPS systems
Maintain systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, fire alarms, mechanical controls, and security infrastructure
Perform and document daily, monthly, and annual inspections, ensuring any issues are addressed quickly and effectively
Schedule and coordinate third-party vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or inspections
Respond to service requests related to mechanical, environmental, safety, plumbing, or general maintenance issues
Maintain accurate logs, inspection records, and reports
Ensure that non-functioning items are properly identified, reported, repaired, or removed
Receive and inspect deliveries as needed, coordinating storage or distribution
Lead preventive and corrective electrical maintenance programs to ensure reliability and minimize downtime
Diagnose and resolve complex equipment failures, electrical or general building systems, acting as first responder for emergencies and outages
Lead or assist in facility improvement projects and capital upgrades, including budgeting and contractor oversight
Oversee and review the work of contractors and vendors across all trades; support permitting and ensure code compliance
Operate within facility ticketing systems to complete and track work orders
Provide guidance to junior maintenance staff or temporary contractors when necessary
Perform all duties in alignment with OSHA safety protocols and company procedures
