We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our WW Deals and Promotions Finance team. Promotions are integral to Amazon’s ability to deliver on its everyday low-price promise to customers. With millions of products available on Amazon, Promotions develops technology to create, message, and calculate discounts for promotional campaigns for all Amazon websites world-wide as well as those of our e-commerce partners. Our systems are invoked by website shopping applications hundreds of millions of times each day!
The Senior Financial Analyst will drive financial modeling, month-end processes, strategic analyses, free-cash-flow initiatives, and will standardize global promotions metrics. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, financial modelling, and planning skills. They will also possess strong business partnership and project management skills and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. The candidate will also have a high bias for action, passion to learn and be curious in a complex space, and ability to influence cross-functionally (e.g., with Product Managers).
Key job responsibilities
- Work closely with Promotions team to set up, execute, and analyze strategic initiatives to drive long term free cash flow
- Provide critical insights to the Promotions leadership team by owning weekly and monthly reporting processes. Build and maintain financial and operational reports to inform business decision-making, ensuring completeness and accuracy with support from peers and managers
- Develop in-depth knowledge across key business areas by staying current on initiatives and developing challenges/opportunities across the business
- Develop metrics reporting and audit mechanisms to measure the accuracy of newly launched programs and initiatives
- Extract and validate data from multiple sources, identifying and resolving discrepancies while escalating complex issues appropriately
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
