WSP USA Inc is currently seeking a GIS Technician to work in our Denver, Colorado or Phoenix, Arizona office.
The position will provide mapping and analysis support to our core business in environmental siting, routing, and permitting of energy facilities in the Western US. The GIS Technician will provide support for projects including:
GIS Database Development and Data Processing
GIS Mapping and Cartographic Design
GIS Analysis and Reporting
GIS Quality Control and Quality Assurance
ArcGIS Web Mapping and ArcGIS Field Maps Development
Typical project types may include:
Land Use Planning
Environmental Permitting
Electric and Gas Transmission
Transportation (road and air-based)
Urban Infrastructure
Local Government
Applicants should be self-starters with the desire and ability to take the lead on a task and possess the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in GIS; Geography; Landscape Architecture; Planning; Environmental Resource Management; or related field with a specialization in GIS
1-3 + professional experience with Esri analysis software
Presentation-quality cartographic skills (portfolio examples are welcome)
Experience providing GIS analysis for State and/or Federal environmental projects
Experience with ArcGIS Portal and Enterprise web map publishing
Experience with Esri Field Maps
Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical staff/management
Strong general computer skills (troubleshooting/problem-solving)
Proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft software products
