Roles and responsibilities:
The Principal MLE will serve as a senior individual contributor driving the design, experimentation, and delivery of advanced machine learning solutions for media intelligence and localization use cases. As a Principal MLE on the team, you will help lead science innovation in our space across a large multidisciplinary team. You will work across a broad set of challenges, including developing state-of-the-art LLM techniques for multimodal insight extraction, building deep transformer models to understand dialog context and create representations for downstream tasks, and generating translations that balance cultural appropriateness, naturalness, and artistic intent. This role shapes technical strategy, defines modeling approaches that advance the state of the art, and turns research into scalable, production-ready ML systems with measurable product and customer impact. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in applied machine learning, statistical analysis, and evaluation methodologies, along with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and drive innovation through data-informed decision-making.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Lead end-to-end design and delivery of production-grade Gen AI based Media processing systems that supports language localization capabilities like Closed Captioning, Language translation, or Dubbing.
Be a key leader on a multidisciplinary team across science, product, design, and engineering to see through ideas from inception, prototype, to launch
Own architectural design and evolution of ML services, APIs, and pipelines, ensuring scalability, reliability, and extensibility for current and future localization use cases.
Drive the science roadmap across multiple teams, helping coordinate a cohesive science agenda across the org.
Establish and operate robust production evaluation frameworks, covering model quality, drift detection, inference performance, and system-level metrics with and without ground truth.
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Applied data scientist, Machine Learning Engineers, setting clear technical direction, delivery standards, and career development paths.
Motivate, inspire and create a culture of experimentation and data-driven innovation while constantly striving to be an advocate for doing what is right for our customers
What to Bring
10+ years total experience of building production grade machine learning solutions
Experience in designing machine learning driven, large-scale distributed systems with large scale customer base
Experience creating novel algorithms and advancing the state of the art
Ability to technically collaborate with partners
Good understanding of machine learning platform
Preferred:
PhD, or Master's degree in CS, CE, ML or related fields.
5+ hands-on experience in any one of following fields: Computer Vision, ASR, Translation or Text-to-Speech technologies.
Working experience with global teams
Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
