Americas Research Business Manager

We are looking for someone to join the Americas Business Management team supporting within the IB Research department.

The role will involve:
• Working with other Business Managers on tasks that are central to the team, for example:
o Analyzing and preparing business performance metrics to draw actionable conclusions
o Collaborating with a wide variety internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and implementation of Research strategy
o Improving processes – both through your own initiative and through involvement with Global Research initiatives.
• Taking responsibility for a number of recurring items, such as:
o Responsibility for, and involvement in a number of controls operated by Business Management team in support of the Research Risk Team
o Cost management, enforcement of cost policies, and reviewing spend
o Understanding of department personnel plans including tracking, supervision, and floor planning
• Involvement in other ad hoc work
o Organizing/running department forums and agendas to be efficient and aligned with strategy
o Creating business presentations, narratives, and strategy documents for senior managers
o Being a point of contact for the department for all operational and business management queries

Your team

The role will be part of the Americas Research Business Management team that is based in New York and reports into the Operating Officer of Americas Research.

Your expertise

• Motivated – can-do attitude, willing to get involved and to roll sleeves up
• Organized, with ability to multi-task – need to be able to juggle different demands, with varying timelines and priorities.
• Team-player – the nature of the Business Management role means team members do not necessarily have strictly ring-fenced responsibilities. Knowing the operations of the whole department and working outside of your primary task list is a must.
• Technically curious – core excel and PowerPoint skills required, underpinned by a desire to identify improved solutions using existing and new tools, such as Alteryx and PowerBI.
