AI Automation & Operations Intelligence Intern - Regional SPX Express (Spring 2026)

About the team

We are looking for AI-savvy interns with strong Python skills to build automation and AI-powered tools using ChatGPT, Gemini, and related LLM platforms. The focus is on transforming large-scale operational data into practical, actionable insights and scaling those insights into real operational actions.

 

This is a hands-on builder role for interns who enjoy rapid prototyping, experimentation, and applying AI to messy, high-impact problems.

What you'll do

• Build Python-based automation and AI workflows leveraging Large Language Models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.)
• Process and analyse large operational datasets to surface meaningful insights
• Rapidly develop prototypes / Minimum Viable Products and iterate based on real user feedback
• Design prompt pipelines, agents, and decision-support tools integrated into workflows
• Work with operations and analytics teams to translate insights into execution
• Scale prototypes into reusable tools or frameworks where applicable

Requirements

• Currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field
• Hands-on experience using Large Language Models (prompting, APIs, agents, workflows)
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency (data processing, scripting, automation)
• Ability to work with large, messy datasets
• Strong problem-structuring and logical thinking skills
• Interest in operations, logistics, supply chain, or execution-heavy environments
