Data Business Product Manager - Regional BI & Planning
ShopeeAbout the team
The Data Business Product Management team is the backbone of how our regional business understands itself. We own the data layer that powers financial reporting, performance measurement, and strategic planning — ensuring data is accurate, centralised, and trusted.
As a PM here, you sit at the intersection of finance, local markets, and engineering. You won't just coordinate between them — you'll define how data is structured, governed, and used to drive real business decisions. Your work directly shapes how the organisation allocates resources, tracks performance, and plans for the future.
Critically, the data we govern is also the foundation that AI depends on to interpret and perform accurately. Without this team, AI cannot do its job. If you want your work to power both the business and the intelligence behind it, this is where that happens.
What you'll do
- Take ownership of defined workstreams within the centralised data mart – managing progress, flagging risk and delivering on time
- Translate ambiguous business questions from finance and local teams into precise, scalable data solutions for data engineers, analysts, and fellow PMs
- Collaborate with data teams to design and implement solutions with optimal data structure
- Ensure logic change requests are implemented accurately in the data marts, reflecting up-to-date business definitions
- Serve as the quality checkpoint for key metrics — ensuring accuracy and reliability of all data maintained in the mart
- Prioritise tasks, align timelines, and manage expectations across finance, local ops, and engineering stakeholders — often with competing priorities
- Proactively surface gaps from both business and technical perspectives and propose optimisation solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in any discipline
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in a data product, analytics, or BI role
- Strong analytical and logical thinking; comfortable navigating ambiguity and distilling complex problems into clear action plans
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders across finance, engineering, and business teams — aligning timelines and priorities across differing agendas
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Working proficiency in SQL — you can write and interpret queries independently, and you are eager to sharpen that skill further
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and at ease in a dynamic, agile environment
