The Opportunity
The Risk & Reporting (R&R) team delivers technology-enabled performance analytics and investor reporting across Oaktree's closed-end, open-end and evergreen strategies, including Private Credit, Opportunistic Credit, Asset-Backed Finance, Special Situations, and Real Estate. The team partners across investments, client, finance, valuation, data, technology, legal, and compliance groups to produce accurate performance, exposure, allocation, and client-reporting data.
As an Associate, you will own assigned R&R deliverables, review investment-level data, and convert complex information into clear analysis, dashboards, and investor-ready materials.
What You'll Do
Performance & Reporting
• Own assigned strategy- and investment-level track records, including TWR, MWR, IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI, and RVPI, across recurring and ad hoc cycles;
• Review investment-level performance drivers and tie deployments, valuation changes, exits, distributions, exposure movements, and return drivers to approved source reports;
• Own assigned strategy, portfolio, investment-performance, exposure, attribution, client-template, and meeting-pack workflows across R&R-supported strategies;
• Prepare and review portfolio analytics covering loss, default, recovery, watchlist, leverage, yield, sector, geography, currency, fair value, and benchmark / PME analysis.
Investor Reporting
• Own investor-reporting data packs, RFP / DDQ inputs, capital-account and transaction schedules, and ILPA-style templates;
• Review bespoke client-template data, including exposure-by-GICS, BIS / Basel fields, instrument classifications, issuer details, fair-value exceptions, and bank-loan, CLO, and derivative economics;
• Maintain and improve LP, consultant, and internal trackers / reporting packs, including owners, due dates, side-letter, parallel-fund, eFront, and exclusion-list requirements.
Technology & Automation
• Use Excel, SQL, Python, and Power BI to convert large datasets and manual reports into reusable extracts, checks, dashboards, and paginated-report workflows;
• Build and test reporting assets across Oaktree systems, governed datasets, Microsoft Fabric, semantic models, Power Query / M, DAX, and secure data-access patterns;
• Document, test, and version-control recurring outputs, using approved GenAI tools to improve analysis, documentation, and quality.
Partnership & Ownership
• Partner across investment, client, finance, valuation, data, technology, legal, and compliance teams while coaching analysts on recurring deliverables, data checks, and reporting standards.
