Infrastructure Data Center Operations Manager
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Data Center Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our data center operations. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, security, and efficiency of our data center infrastructure while managing teams, processes, and vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Direct day-to-day operations of the data center facility, including monitoring system performance, managing capacity, and ensuring 24/7 operational continuity
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise data center operations staff; foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Infrastructure Oversight: Manage and maintain critical infrastructure systems including power distribution, cooling systems, server hardware, networking equipment, and backup systems
- Incident Management: Lead incident response efforts, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime
- Performance Monitoring: Implement and maintain monitoring systems; analyze metrics related to uptime, efficiency, energy consumption, and cost
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies; maintain safe working conditions and security protocols
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers; manage contracts, SLAs, and performance expectations
- Documentation & Planning: Develop standard operating procedures, disaster recovery plans, and capacity planning strategies
- Budget Management: Monitor operational budgets and identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality or reliability
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in data center operations or infrastructure management roles
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure (HVAC, power systems, physical security)
- Familiarity with server hardware, networking equipment, and storage systems
- Knowledge of monitoring and management tools
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing technical teams and supervising multiple personnel
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities; capability to handle high-pressure situations
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Certifications: Industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, Data Center Operations) preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud infrastructure or hybrid environments
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and green data center practices

- Background in IT Service Management (ITSM)
