Sentinel - Nuclear Hardness and Survivability Engineer - 17915

The successful candidate will join the Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S) team in Roy, UT and contribute to the successful development of the world’s most advanced weapon system in one or more of the following ways:

• Defining NH&S environments

• Radiation transport modeling and simulation

• Radiation effects circuit analysis

• Ground shock and thermal effects analysis

• Effects of electromagnetic pulses on electronics

• NHS qualification testing and analysis of semiconductors

• NHS qualification testing and analysis of the GBSD systems, subsystems and equipment

Basic Qualifications:   

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree.

• Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years

• Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

• 1+ years’ experience in radiation effects testing, electromagnetic pulse testing (EMP) or environmental testing on electronics

• Basic digital/analog semiconductor performance test and analysis experience

• Understanding of circuit modeling (SPICE, PSPICE, LTSPICE) techniques and implementation

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or physics

• Experience in embedded hardware and software qualification testing for circuit card assemblies and subassemblies

• Familiarity with MIL-STD-1766

• Familiarity with MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, and/or MIL-STD-461

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to execute to a program schedule

• Weapon System experience (Sentinel, Minuteman III, or similar military or industry experience)

• Master’s degree in Electrical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited institution

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
