Job Responsibilities:
Strategic
- Lead the execution of the division's strategy initiatives and business plans for Japanese Corporate Banking Business in APAC including the Tokyo Head Office.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, Tokyo Head Office, and cross-functional teams to align business strategies and ensure seamless execution.
- Strengthen regional business plans to support the growth of the Japanese Corporate Banking sector.
- Work closely with various divisions in APAC including Tokyo Head Office to develop business strategies.
- Define and drive the regional Advisory Business strategy, including business development priorities, market penetration initiatives, and collaboration frameworks with relevant product and front teams across APAC including Tokyo Head Office.
Financial
- Monitor financial performance and assess results against projected targets.
- Lead the team in achieving the Balanced Score Card objectives for the region.
- Evaluate and enhance the financial performance of regional branches.
- Drive revenue growth and improve profitability of the Advisory Business by overseeing business pipelines, transaction execution, and resource allocation across the region.
Customer
- Partner with Headquarters to drive business initiatives across APAC.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key clients to facilitate new business development and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Establish and maintain robust stakeholder management with internal and external partners, including MUFG.
- Lead the origination and delivery of advisory solutions for Japanese corporate clients, working closely with relationship managers and product specialists to provide strategic value-added services.
People
- Responsible for managing (objective setting & performance management), developing (coaching, career progression & training) and rewarding (financial and non-financial reward decisions) direct reports.
- Support, coach and guide the staff on complex issues.
- Act as role model to team members and adhere to all company policies/ guidelines.
Other/ Control
- Ensure the division to meet the organization’s expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staffs, including overseeing new staff onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- To always comply with internal rules and guidelines as well as external laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to proper conduct of banking business.
- To undertake any other matters instructed by Management.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum JLPT N1 Certification (or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency) to communicate effectively with stakeholders of various divisions in Tokyo Head Office, as the role requires interaction with Japanese speaking stakeholders.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry, including significant experience in Japanese corporate banking and leadership roles.
- Minimum Degree Qualified
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated adaptability to organizational change and the varying demands of different stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and efficient time management.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge in banking regulatory environment with particular focus on the local regulations
