Associate Analyst, Strategy & Business Excellence – Europe (Rosetta / First Employment)
Overview
The Strategy & Business Excellence team is a central function responsible for helping shape Mastercard’s strategic direction in Europe and supporting the delivery of strong, sustainable business performance across the organisation.
The Associate Analyst will work across a variety of teams including risk management, pricing and economics, strategy and project management. This breadth of exposure will provide an opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues and develop a strong understanding of Mastercard’s European business.
The successful candidate will also help the team explore how artificial intelligence, automation and other digital tools can improve the way work is performed. This will involve testing practical improvements using approved tools and supporting the adoption of more effective ways of working while delivering on his/her assigned projects.
Role
In this position, you will:
• Support analytical, strategic and project-related activities across areas including risk, pricing, strategy and economics, taking accountability for assigned outputs
• Identify opportunities to simplify recurring activities and explore how approved AI, automation and digital tools can improve productivity and ways of working
• Share practical learnings and contribute to the adoption of improved tools, processes and ways of working across the team
• Help prepare clear and high-quality presentations, reports, briefings and meeting materials
• Support project coordination by collecting inputs, monitoring actions and collaborating with colleagues across functions and markets
• Prepare concise summaries of documents and discussions, consolidate inputs for team updates, and assist with drafting reports and follow-up notes
• Contribute to team activities by updating existing presentations and documents, incorporating comments and ensuring materials are accurate and up to date
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following profile and key requirements:
• Meets the applicable eligibility requirements for a Rosetta / First Employment contract in Belgium (under the age of 24 years old)
• A university degree in any discipline, with clear evidence of strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Intellectually curious, with a genuine interest in learning about unfamiliar business topics and understanding how complex organisations operate
• Genuine interest in AI, automation and the practical application of technology to improve business processes and productivity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
• Proactive, dynamic, organised and attentive to detail, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional European languages are an asset
