Vulnerability Operations Engineer

Our team is responsible for finding, triaging, prioritising and driving the remediation of security vulnerabilities that put Macquarie's applications at risk from malicious Cyber Threat Actors.

As a Vulnerability Operations Engineer, you will work alongside engineers, developers and stakeholders to triage signals from across our digital environments: web application firewalls, attack-surface monitoring, API security, secrets scanning and code-level testing, turning  alerts into a single, clear view of what truly matters and ensuring it gets fixed fast. You will help build the intelligence-led automation that lets us respond at speed and scale, continuously evolving the way our business stays ahead of emerging threats and protects our customers.

What you offer

• Strong experience in Detection Engineering, SOC (L2/L3), or Vulnerability Response
• Hands-on expertise with SIEM tools (Splunk, Sumo Logic preferred), log analytics, correlation, and dashboard creation
• Proven experience in WAF monitoring, alert analysis, and rule tuning; Vulnerability management and remediation tracking; EDR Tools such as CrowdStrike
• Solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP, APIs, web architecture) and web application attacks (OWASP Top 10)
• Experience in security incident investigation and threat hunting
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience using Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket/Stash).
