Client Service Associate
LazardLazard Asset Management delivers investment strategies across the global equity and fixed income landscape, spanning both developed and emerging markets through fundamental and quantitative lenses. We provide high-touch, technical partnership to our most sophisticated UK/European, Nordic, and Middle Eastern institutional clients. This role entails day-to-day support of these clients working in lockstep with our Sales/Client Relationship Managers. You will serve as the technical bridge for a diverse portfolio of separately managed accounts and pooled funds.
The role requires someone who has demonstrated a strong track record and excellence in institutional relationship management. Someone who can build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally with clients. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented thinker who thrives in team dynamic while also maintaining the autonomy to lead bespoke client solutions or projects. The right individual will offer a solutions-based approach to new tasks and initiatives, where it will be essential to leverage AI-augmented tools in the future.
The candidate should have a minimum 3 years’ experience of working within an institutional client service team for an active asset manager You must possess the intellectual curiosity to partner directly with internal stakeholders, moving beyond a general understanding of our strategies and offerings, while continuously seeking to improve the client experience.
Client Service Associate - London
We’ll trust you to:
- You will be the daily point contact for circa 10-20 clients and will be expected to contribute to improving the overall client experience at Lazard.
- You will work directly with our clients and their investment consultants on all queries, information requests, and aspects of account management.
- You will coordinate multiple stakeholders across our global business, ranging from Portfolio Managers/Investment, Sustainability & Stewardship, RFP/Marketing, Legal & Compliance, and Operational teams, to solicit accurate and timely information.
- You will be responsible for all service levels and will be expected to ensure all tasks are fulfilled in the required timeframes.
- As part of Client Reporting, you are responsible for oversight of our internal and outsourced periodic reports, and you will be directly involved in the preparation and distribution of our Quarterly Investment Reviews (QIR) and any other custom data/reporting needs. As part of this, you will be required to work closely with our Client Reporting Manager and our IT Development Team to ensure any clients requirements are met.
- You will be expected to coordinate client meetings and assist in the production of presentation books, ensuring meetings notes and follow-up items are captured.
- You will lead and coordinate the onboarding of new mandates, and existing account transitions supported by the broader resources at Lazard.
- Ensuring client records and documentation is maintained and accurate in our CRM (Salesforce) and Account Management systems (Atlassian/OASIS), as well as our Client Reporting Database.
You’ll need to have:
- Proven experience within institutional asset management in a client service / reporting role
- Good understanding of different asset classes and both active fundamental and quantitative investment approaches
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with clients and internal stakeholders
- Strong emphasis on relationship building, client satisfaction and service, including responding to clients on a timely basis
- Diligent with an excellent eye for detail and accuracy in all matters
- Strong analytical ability and in depth understanding of detailed investment reports, portfolio valuations, transaction statements, etc
- Good time management skills, flexible mindset and adaptability to cyclical nature of role
- Able to meet demanding periodic reporting deadlines
- Desire to further career in institutional client relationship management
- Genuine interest in asset management and finance
- Ideally candidate would hold the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) qualification or be prepared to obtain it within 18 months of joining
- Advanced Excel (Macros/VLookup functions desirable), MS Office including PowerPoint skills
- Familiarity with Seismic and Salesforce applications, and any code writing ability in SQL, Python or AI logic/prompts, would be advantageous.
