As Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking team, you will help ensure our digital products are accessible, inclusive, and compliant with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Perform comprehensive accessibility testing for web and mobile applications using manual techniques and industry-standard tools (e.g., axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
- Validate user experiences with assistive technologies, including screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, and alternative input devices.
- Review designs, user stories, and requirements early in the lifecycle and provide actionable accessibility feedback to Product and Design.
- Document accessibility defects with clear reproduction steps, WCAG mapping where applicable, severity/impact, and recommended fixes; verify remediation with Engineering.
- Partner with developers to troubleshoot issues and confirm fixes meet WCAG 2.1 AA expectations without introducing regressions.
- Build and maintain automated accessibility and UI test coverage (e.g., Selenium/Cypress/Playwright/Appium or equivalent), supporting shift-left quality and repeatable validation.
- Participate in accessibility reviews/audits and support evidence collection for compliance reporting as needed.
- Contribute to accessibility testing standards, playbooks, and reusable test assets; identify process improvements that increase coverage and speed.
- Support UAT and production readiness validation for accessibility-sensitive releases.
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
