Department Summary:
The Business Strategy & Development team is a fully integrated team of Client Portfolio Managers (CPMs) and Client Portfolio Analysts (CPAs) created to support and service our fundamental active Equity and Fixed Income investment capabilities across diversified channels and regions. The team’s purpose is to maximize franchise value through best-in-class investment strategy for client advocacy and partnership with portfolio management and distribution teams.
Job Purpose:
The Senior Client Portfolio Analyst (CPA) is responsible for developing and updating customized client and prospect materials, reflecting the latest market dynamics, portfolio positioning, and performance insights. This individual works closely with their respective Client Portfolio Manager(s) and supports client-facing tasks and content creation.
The Senior CPA will partner with Client Portfolio Managers to provide high-quality support during client meetings and roadshows, including pre-meeting preparation and post-meeting follow-up materials. The Senior CPA will be tasked with producing value-added investment commentary, market insights, and thought leadership content (e.g., blogs, white papers, talking points) to support client retention and acquisition efforts.
The Senior CPA will assist in the creation of new quarterly marketing materials, investment commentary and strategy updates. They will also coordinate with investment teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of created materials. The individual also supports key investment strategies liaising with product, legal, compliance, marketing, and other departments to help with content and other potential issues. Key to success in this role is demonstrating the ability to think creatively about the marketing of their respective strategies and to be able to re-focus quickly as business needs evolve.
Because the Senior Client Portfolio Analyst acts as an extension of the portfolio management team, this individual must have a strong understanding of financial markets and, over time, be regarded as a credible spokesperson from both a fundamental analysis and macro-economic perspective.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
The Senior Client Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for a set of investment strategies across geographies markets and in both retail and institutional channels.
Investment Content & Expertise
Work closely with the team’s portfolio managers and CPMs to become deeply knowledgeable about each strategy. The Senior Client Portfolio Analyst must have an intimate knowledge of the investment philosophy and process of each investment product supported. This includes a detailed understanding of current investment themes within the portfolio, risk attributes of the strategy, past and current positioning of the portfolio, near-term outlook for the strategy and performance attribution.
Assist with the completion of PM and CPM client meeting preparation and understanding of key client needs and objections.
Build supplemental slides in support of key client questions and investment trends. Work closely with the team’s CPMs to become knowledgeable of each product to develop, maintain, and enhance bespoke collateral produced by the team.
Drive the development of thought leadership, insight pieces, and bespoke presentations across retail and institutional channels. This includes monitoring key investment and industry trends and identifying key investment strategy issues and topics.
Know the competitive landscape/peer group; stay current on market trends and competitive developments in all relevant distribution channels. Be able to clearly articulate what differentiates our products from the competition.
Distribution & Marketing Support
In partnership with their respective Client Portfolio Manager(s) and investment team, develop a message for clients and prospects re: the investment capabilities of the team’s various strategies. This includes playing a prominent role in creating and reviewing marketing and meeting materials, and providing regular communications, analysis and insights to our Sales team for use with clients.
Develop and implement effective strategy specific marketing initiatives designed to build sales momentum and/or defend a critical investment franchise.
Support Distribution with training, large conferences, meeting support. Manage the ongoing internal and external experience for our products and work with Product and Marketing to support fund specific content.
Assist Sales with custom proposals for significant business opportunities and participate in client calls/meetings as needed.
Skills / Personal Attributes Required:
8-15 years of related experience in financial services.
Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to translate complex investment concepts into client-friendly language.
Entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on continuous improvement, willingness to take risks, embrace and lead change, determination to find creative solutions to problems. Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
Technical skills, including strong investment acumen, understanding of financial markets and economics, proficiency with Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, Morningstar and other software products.
Passion for the industry and capital markets is a must.
Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
Good people and influence management skills
Formal Education:
Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business or related discipline
