The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialist to join our team. This role you will be accountable for will assist in developing and implementing policies and practices that identify and mitigate hazardous conditions in both workplace and external environments. This position applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education, with work performed under close supervision as you develop your professional capabilities in the HSE field.
How you’ll make an impact
Assisting in developing and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines that comply with applicable regulations and standards
Supporting the implementation of safety programs and initiatives designed to prevent workplace accidents and environmental incidents
Collaborating in executing and monitoring HSE initiatives across departments, tracking progress and identifying opportunities for improvement
Helping maintain documentation related to HSE policies and procedures.
Conducting routine inspections of facilities and operations to identify potential environmental and safety hazards
Assisting in monitoring workplace conditions to ensure compliance with established health and safety standards
Supporting in operating, maintaining, and calibrating health, safety and environmental monitoring equipment
Participating in investigating workplace accidents and environmental incidents under supervision
Document findings from investigations and assist in developing recommendations to prevent recurrence
Compiling data and preparing reports
Supporting the development and delivery of HSE training materials for employees
Assisting in conducting safety awareness sessions and basic training programs

Your background
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field
1-2 years of professional experience in HSE or related field is required
Knowledge of HSE principles, regulations, and standards
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication abilities
Understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations
Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office applications
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
