The YouTube Music app is revolutionizing how fans engage with and enjoy the world's music and integrate it into their daily lives. We are bringing the industry’s best music understanding and recommendations to fans on mobile, in their cars, on their TVs and speakers, and all the other devices they listen on.
The Music team is also responsible for driving the success of music and podcasts throughout the YouTube ecosystem, connecting fans with the music and podcasts they love and helping artists and podcasters find fame and fortune on the platform. We are building innovative new community and interactive features to build even deeper connections, including generative AI features to help explore the catalog and Lyria for music generation.
As Senior Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for end-to-end technical leadership and execution for the YouTube Music and Podcasts team. You will set the strategic and technical direction for how we build the best discovery and consumption experiences for viewers around the world. You and your team will leverage the unique strengths of Google and YouTube (e.g., our extensive music and podcast corpus, industry-leading ML and Recommendation systems, and talented teams) to deliver on ambitious growth goals.
As a key part of the cross-functional Subscriptions leadership team, you will contribute to our overall Subscriptions strategy across Music, Premium, and TV. You will also work closely with industry partners (i.e., Music Labels and Publishers, Artists and Songwriters, Podcasters) to support their needs and grow in the YouTube ecosystem.
