The opportunity
Global Managed Services at EY is entering a phase of accelerated growth, with increasing demand for integrated, multi-tower managed services across Technology, Finance, Risk, and Data.
As a Technology Managed Services Solution Architect, you will play a central role in shaping and articulating differentiated managed services solutions. Beyond designing the solution, you will be responsible for ensuring the solution is clearly understood, commercially compelling, and operationally credible to clients.
You will work across global pursuit teams, collaborating with Sales, Delivery, Pricing, and domain solution leaders to bring together complex service offerings into a cohesive, client-ready narrative.
Your key responsibilities
- Solution strategy and narrative development
- Translate client requirements, business context, and evaluation criteria into a clear and structured solution storyline
- Define the solution spine across technology managed services, ensuring alignment with client priorities such as stability, cost, transformation, and risk reduction
- Develop compelling value propositions that connect service design to measurable business outcomes
- Convert complex delivery constructs into simple, intuitive messaging for executive stakeholders
- End-to-end Tech Managed Services solution design
- Design integrated Technology Managed Services solutions across applications, cloud, data, platforms, and service operations
- Define scope, service catalogue, operating model, delivery model, governance, and continuous improvement approach
- Incorporate automation, AI/GenAI, and platform-led efficiencies into the solution
- Ensure solution decisions are grounded in delivery feasibility, available data, and market competitiveness
- Articulation and client engagement
- Actively participate in the Articulate phase of pursuits, contributing to proposal development, solution documentation, and oral presentations
- Structure and communicate the solution across five dimensions: Client context, Design intent, Service operating model, Transition and stabilization approach and Value realization
- Support or lead solution walkthroughs, workshops, and client discussions, ensuring clarity and confidence in the proposed model
- Partner with Sales and deal leadership to ensure the client narrative and solution design remain aligned
- Transition, stabilization, and delivery model design
- Design transition and onboarding strategies, including knowledge transfer, phased migration, and stabilization
- Define early-stage risk mitigation levers such as SWAT teams, command centre, and backlog reduction
- Ensure transition plans are practical, sequenced, and aligned to client readiness
- Support delivery teams in mobilization and early lifecycle stages
- Estimation and commercial input
- Translate solution design into effort drivers, staffing models, and productivity assumptions
- Work closely with Pricing teams to ensure commercial models reflect solution realities
- Validate alignment between service commitments, SLAs, and cost structures
- Highlight risks, contingencies, and dependencies that impact commercial viability
- Solution assurance and risk management
- Identify and address risks across scope, delivery, transition, tooling, and governance
- Ensure solution integrity across proposal content, pricing assumptions, and client messaging
- Participate in solution reviews, challenge sessions, and leadership governance forums
- Maintain clarity on assumptions, exclusions, and dependencies to avoid downstream risk
Skills and attributes for success
- Ability to translate complex managed services solutions into clear, client-relevant narratives
- Strong understanding of end-to-end Managed Services lifecycle (pursuit to steady state)
- Experience aligning delivery reality with client-facing messaging
- Structured thinking with the ability to connect business outcomes, service design, and commercial models
- Confidence to engage and influence senior stakeholders across Sales, Delivery, and domain teams
- Strong collaboration skills to work across global, multi-disciplinary pursuit teams
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, multi-owner environments and driving alignment
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 10+ years of experience in Technology Managed Services, Application Management, or TechOps
- Proven experience in solutioning and/or leading complex managed services pursuits
- Hands-on experience in one or more areas:
- Enterprise applications (SAP, ServiceNow, MS Dynamics, Guidewire, etc.)
- Cloud and platform operations
- Data and analytics platforms
- Service management and ITSM environments (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Experience working across multi-tower or integrated managed services deals
- Strong exposure to transition, service delivery, and operating model design
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience participating in or leading solution articulation, proposals, or orals
- Understanding of integrated business and technology managed services models
- Familiarity with commercial constructs and pricing drivers in managed services
- Exposure to design thinking, structured problem solving, or agile ways of working
- Architecture or service management certifications (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL)
