The Role:
Our site in San Luis Obispo is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanical Technician to join our team. The Manufacturing Mechanical Tech 1 will be responsible for performing tasks related to building our Ultra High Purity Systems. This will include, but not limited to; manufacturing various sub-assemblies to engineering specifications, as well as assist with routing cables and conduit on our systems. This position is expected to always operate in a safe manner and comply with all applicable work instructions.
What You’ll Do:
Ability to learn and understand standard and non-standard options per the Customer Data Sheets (CDS) requirements.
Works from instructions, drawings, schematics, piping and instrumentation drawings, illustrations and process documentation to assemble a variety of mechanical, electrical subassemblies and systems with supervision.
Ability to follow verbal instructions.
Ability to build sub-assemblies with supervision.
Learn Cabinet Preparation by installing bracketing, piping insulation, and sub-assemblies with supervision.
Learn engineering specifications to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
Performs routine, repetitive assembly operations and processes to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
Complete 6S responsibilities (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety)
Maintain a safe and clean work environment and maintain or increase On-Time Shipments.
Ability to work safely and recognize the safety of others.
Provide accuracy and consistency in work performance.
Learn proper measuring techniques, tool use, care, and quality standards.
Work with a team as well as independently when needed.
Any other duties as assigned.

What We Seek:

High School Diploma or equivalent
0-2 years’ experience mechanical assembly and/or relevant experience
Ability to learn to navigate through operating system to find BOMs, drawings and instructions
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs daily
Ability to climb ladders and be on your feet for extended periods of time
Focus on attention to detail to drive plant safety and product quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
Ability to learn how handle material responsibly
Dependability and flexibility to work over-time and weekends to support business needs
