Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. Job expectations include an awareness of development and testing practices in the industry.
This role is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting application infrastructure across development, testing, performance, and production environments.
The engineer will manage environment readiness, infrastructure onboarding, middleware configuration, and deployment support while ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture, security, resiliency, and operational standards.
Responsibilities:
Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements
Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities
Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements
Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause
Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
Design, implement, and maintain application infrastructure and environment configurations.
Support onboarding of new applications, platforms, and infrastructure components across multiple environments.
Configure and support middleware, web services, messaging, and application hosting frameworks.
Develop and maintain deployment automation, configuration standards, and operational documentation.
Collaborate with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to ensure infrastructure readiness and compliance.
Perform infrastructure validation, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and remediation activities.
Support production implementations, change activities, iPlan creation, and operational readiness reviews.
Monitor and improve platform stability, resiliency, performance, and availability.
Assist with technology upgrades, certificate management, software currency, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Provide technical leadership and support for complex implementation and migration initiatives.
Required Skills
5+ years of strong engineering with infrastructure and configuration management background.
Hands-on experience supporting enterprise middleware platforms, web services, APIs, and integration technologies.
Experience with Remedy, Jira, Confluence, ALM, and change management processes.
Familiarity with Agile and Kanban methodologies.
Knowledge of CI/CD practices and deployment automation.
Experience supporting Tier 0 or business-critical applications within a banking or financial services environment – never down/zero failure mentality.
Strong troubleshooting experience across infrastructure, middleware, application, and deployment components.
Understanding of networking, load balancing, firewall connectivity, certificates, DNS, and security controls.
Experience supporting Linux, Windows, containerized, or cloud-based environments.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining operational excellence and production stability.
