Join AWS Supply Chain as a Software Development Engineer II and build the systems that power the world's leading cloud infrastructure. You'll develop cutting-edge inventory and warehouse management systems that enable AWS to provide computing services to millions of customers worldwide. Working with a collaborative team of engineers, supply chain specialists, and operations managers, you'll solve complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the global supply chain. This role offers unique opportunities to work directly with business stakeholders in defining, designing, and operating products that ensure physical and financial control of inventory across AWS's global footprint.
We're looking for someone passionate about product design who innovates for customers in a flat team structure. You'll take true ownership of your work, from design through deployment, while contributing to the systems that keep the cloud running for hundreds of thousands of developers and businesses using AWS daily.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions for inventory and warehouse management systems that support AWS's global infrastructure operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet business requirements
- Participate actively in code review processes, providing meaningful feedback to teammates and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code across the team
- Take operational responsibility for software systems, identifying root causes of issues and implementing permanent fixes to improve system reliability and performance
- Work with customers and stakeholders to understand business value and requirements, ensuring software solutions align with long-term architectural strategy and customer needs
A day in the life
You'll start your day reviewing system metrics and addressing any overnight operational issues with your global team. Throughout the day, you'll design and implement features for supply chain management systems, participate in collaborative code reviews, and work directly with business stakeholders to refine requirements. You'll spend time analyzing complex supply chain data patterns, building automated solutions for inventory orchestration, and mentoring new team members on system architecture and best practices.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
