Join us at Zendesk, where we’re on a mission to power exceptional service for every person on the planet. We are accelerating our ambition by building AI-first products rooted in the belief that behind every interaction is an opportunity to make a human connection.
To achieve this, we are searching for a high-performing Commercial Account Executive with a proven track record in B2B SaaS sales and a deep passion for working at the forefront of AI innovation. In this role, you will play a vital role in expanding our footprint within the mid-market Commercial sector in New Zealand. You will focus on acquiring new customers and expanding existing partnerships by introducing innovative, AI-powered CX solutions that transform how businesses engage with their customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Directly drive top-line revenue by acquiring new customer accounts and executing strategies to penetrate key prospects within the Commercial segment.
Serve as a trusted advisor on AI-powered customer service tools, articulating the business value of automation, generative AI, and intelligent workflows to mid-market leaders.
Proactively identify opportunities to expand Zendesk’s footprint within existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling advanced products and features.
Manage value-centric, multi-stakeholder sales processes—including solution demonstrations and proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations—to secure long-term partnerships.
Build and execute territory plans to maximise market share, consistently generating high-quality pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue quotas.
Establish credibility and build strong relationships with VP and C-level decision-makers, leveraging consultative selling skills to align Zendesk solutions with key business metrics.
Utilise sales intelligence, product adoption data, and customer intent metrics to hone prospecting strategies and improve conversion rates.
Partner with Solutions Engineers, Marketing, Customer Success, and leadership teams to optimise deal strategy and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Maintain accurate sales pipeline forecasts in Salesforce and communicate progress effectively to sales leadership.
What You Bring to the Role
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, with 5-8+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience and a history of consistently exceeding sales targets.
Demonstrated experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder, mid-market sales cycles.
Enthusiasm for AI-driven transformation in SaaS and CX, with the ability to clearly articulate the value of AI technology to non-technical business leaders.
A consistent track record of target achievement (quota attainment in 2 of the last 3 years); President’s Club or top-performer recognition is a plus.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills, with experience engaging C-suite executives, VPs, and key department heads.
Proven ability to create and execute territory plans, manage multi-month deal cycles, and drive consultative sales processes.
Experience using modern sales tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, Clari, Seismic, and Looker.
An entrepreneurial mindset, strong collaborative spirit, and a commitment to continuous personal and professional growth.
Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
