Are you an experienced Azure Platform Engineer with strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, networking, automation, and platform enablement? We are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team and become part of the central Azure Platform Team.
In this role, you will design, build, and continuously improve the Azure platform supporting more than twenty product teams. You will drive automation, standardisation, security, and cloud adoption while working closely with development teams, architects, and operations. An important current focus is the further implementation and optimisation of GitHub as the organisation’s development platform.

Key Responsibilities
Design, build, operate, and improve Transavia’s central Microsoft Azure platform.
Develop secure, scalable, standardised, and reusable cloud-platform capabilities.
Design and maintain Azure networking solutions, including vWAN, Hub-and-Spoke architectures, Azure Firewall, VNets, NSGs, DNS, routing, ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site and Point-to-Site connectivity, and Application Gateways.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
Support the further implementation, adoption, and optimisation of GitHub as the development platform.
Apply Azure security principles and controls across networking, identity, infrastructure, and platform services.
Contribute to cloud architecture, system design, platform standards, and technical roadmaps.
Support product teams with cloud onboarding, platform adoption, and the implementation of Azure best practices.
Automate repetitive platform and operational activities.
Troubleshoot complex cloud-platform, networking, security, and connectivity issues.
Work closely with architects, developers, operations teams, and stakeholders across different departments.
Coach engineering teams and provide technical guidance on Azure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and platform usage.
Participate in platform monitoring, incident response, continuous improvement, and operational readiness.
Take part in the on-call rotation approximately one week every six to seven weeks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least five years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or in a comparable role.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments.
Practical experience with Azure networking, including vWAN, Hub-and-Spoke, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, DNS, routing, Application Gateways, VNets, NSGs, and Site-to-Site or Point-to-Site connectivity.
Strong understanding of Azure security and secure cloud-platform design.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
At least one to two years of experience managing or supporting Azure DevOps and/or GitHub platforms.
Experience with GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise, or development-platform adoption is strongly preferred.
Experience with system design, cloud architecture, platform engineering, and cloud-adoption programmes.
Ability to design reusable platform services that can support multiple product and development teams.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
Experience coaching engineering teams and working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in complex enterprise environments.
Professional proficiency in English; Dutch is considered an advantage.
Experience with Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service is considered an advantage.
Experience supporting data migrations is considered an advantage.
Availability to start in September or no later than October.
Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation approximately once every six to seven weeks.
