Laboratory Technician – WSP Research Centre Petone, Lower Hutt
Our Petone laboratory is looking for a recent graduate to join our Pavements and Materials team as a Laboratory Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in applied science within a supportive and professional laboratory environment. You will contribute to our bitumen testing programme and assist the pavements research team.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct a variety of tests on bitumen, asphalt, and other roading construction materials
- Prepare material samples, operate laboratory instruments, and ensure compliance with testing protocols
- Accurately record and document test data with a high level of detail
- Help maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Support ongoing improvement of laboratory processes
About You
- Relevant qualification in science (materials, chemistry, or a related field)
- Comfortable working in a process-driven laboratory environment with a strong emphasis on accuracy
- Detail oriented with a structured approach to following defined procedures
- A curious mindset and enthusiastic to learn
- A current, clean NZ driver's licence
