WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President, Plumbing Engineer to join our growing Property & Buildings team in Houston, Texas.

Your Impact
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the design and delivery of plumbing systems across building and infrastructure projects
- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams in the planning, design, and coordination of plumbing, fire protection, and fluid flow systems
- Oversee and perform engineering review of design documents, specifications, and construction deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality and timely execution
- Support and drive business development efforts, including client relationship management, proposal development, and identifying new opportunities
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver integrated design solutions across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, higher education, and mission-critical facilities
- Ensure adherence to WSP’s quality, safety, and compliance standards, including local, state, and federal regulations
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in plumbing for building systems engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license desired but not required (multi-state preferred)
- Strong knowledge of plumbing system design, including domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, stormwater, lab gases, and specialty systems
- Proven experience leading projects and working across multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and support business development activities
- Strong understanding of applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Experience with design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering projects within Property & Buildings sectors (e.g., Healthcare, Higher Education, Laboratory)
- Proven leadership experience in mentoring teams and driving project delivery excellence

Compensation:
Expected Salary: $134,700 - $200,100
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
