Your Impact
- Perform site surveys and assessments to support mechanical design development.
- Prepare mechanical design briefs and complete load calculations, ventilation sizing, and equipment selection for HVAC and energy systems.
- Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documentation aligned with WSP standards and applicable codes.
- Support coordinated project delivery by collaborating closely with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration activities to ensure design intent is met.
- Produce mechanical drawings and specifications in accordance with building codes and industry standards.
- Participate in client meetings and design team discussions to support project alignment and decision‑making.
- Assist with proposal efforts, including fee letter support and RFP responses.
- Apply codes, standards, and best practices daily to ensure safe, efficient, and constructible designs.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering backed by 5+ years of hands‑on mechanical/HVAC design experience in consulting environments.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and engineering calculation tools.
- Hold P.Eng. licensure with a strong desire for continued professional growth.
- Knowledge of National Building Code, CSA standards, and ASHRAE guidelines.
- Experience producing coordinated design packages and managing defined scopes independently.
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to solve problems alongside multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Comfort interacting directly with clients and supporting discussions with clear technical insight.
- Prior experience in educational, healthcare, recreational, cultural, or sports facility design is an asset.
