WSP’s Atmospheric Services team is nationally recognised for its expertise in air quality, greenhouse gas, and odour consulting. We’re growing and are looking for an experienced Air Quality Consultant to join our national team from our Sydney, Newcastle, or Perth office.
The Opportunity
As an experienced Air Quality Consultant, you will play a key leadership role in shaping and growing WSP’s atmospheric capability across Australia.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients, lead complex and high-profile projects, and contribute to our strategic growth across priority sectors. This role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and business development, with the opportunity to influence both project outcomes and the direction of our service offering.
What You’ll Do
Lead and oversee complex air quality, odour, and/or greenhouse gas projects, ensuring technical excellence and commercial performance
Act as a trusted advisor to key clients, building long-term relationships and identifying new opportunities
Win and deliver work, contributing to pipeline development and growth of the Atmospheric Services business
Provide strategic technical input on major infrastructure, resources, and industrial projects
Mentor and develop team members, building capability across our national network
Collaborate across WSP’s broader Earth & Environment and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
Contribute to market positioning, thought leadership, and service innovation
What you’ll bring:
Degree in environmental science, engineering, physics, chemistry, or a related discipline
10+ years’ relevant experience, ideally within consulting
Strong track record in air quality impact assessment and technical leadership
Demonstrated ability to build client relationships and win work
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects
Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
Experience with dispersion modelling tools and data analysis (e.g. AERMOD, CALPUFF, Python or similar)
