Your Impact
- Conduct laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with recognized industry standards.
- Produce accurate, timely test results and documentation that support engineering decisions and client deliverables.
- Participate in CCIL certification activities as required, supporting prompt and accurate testing and reporting.
- Collect, record, and organize data clearly and consistently to enable efficient data entry and high-quality final reporting.
- Support calibration, maintenance, and safe operation of laboratory equipment while maintaining strong housekeeping practices.
- Contribute to the laboratory quality control program, supporting internal/external audits and helping identify and communicate non-conformances to the Lab Supervisor.
- Assist with safe sample management practices, including shipping, receiving, logging, handling, storage, and disposal of materials.
- Collaborate effectively with office staff, field technicians/technologists, administrative teams, and occasionally clients to support integrated project delivery.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Post-secondary technical education in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
- 1–5 years of experience in a soils laboratory; field materials testing experience (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt) is an asset.
- Working knowledge of standardized lab testing procedures (ASTM, AASHTO, CSA).
- Experience with CCIL laboratory certification processes, proficiency testing programs, and equipment maintenance/calibration.
- CCIL Type C certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), including accurate data entry, data interpretation, and report generation.
- A demonstrated commitment to health and safety, with a safety-conscious approach to laboratory work.
