Join WSP’s Transportation & Infrastructure team as an Intermediate / Senior Traffic Engineer, where your expertise will help shape safer, more efficient, and more sustainable transportation systems. Based out of our Dartmouth office, this role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of municipal and private‑sector projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful impact across communities.
Projects include traffic impact studies, transportation impact assessments, transportation facility design concepts and analysis, transit modelling and design, multi‑modal assessments, urban intersection design, site plan review, and parking justification.
Your Impact
You will make a difference by:
- Collecting and interpreting transportation data to support informed decision‑making
- Developing and adjusting traffic volumes to suit the context of each study
- Conducting intersection operations assessments using Synchro and other tools
- Interpreting and reporting traffic operations analysis results to clients and stakeholders
- Working with a team of transportation/traffic engineers, planners and designers to assess transportation, traffic and parking conditions
- Preparing graphics, technical memos, and reports to communicate technical results and recommendations
- Conducting field studies (site visits, inventories, transit, traffic, and parking counts)
- Reviewing site plans and providing redlines using AutoCAD and AutoTurn
- Collaborating with clients, project teams, and road authorities to meet project requirements
- Mentoring junior staff while contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing team
The Skills That Set You Apart
You bring:
- A degree in Civil Engineering with experience in the transportation field
- Eligibility for P.Eng. designation with Engineers Nova Scotia
- 5+ years of experience in transportation / traffic engineering
- Proficiency with Synchro / SimTraffic software
- Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AutoTurn
- Familiarity with transportation planning guidelines, including TAC Guidelines
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork capabilities

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $96,000 – $132,000
MB & ON: $90,000 – $124,000
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $84,000 – $116,000
