Job Summary
The Ireland Roads team is seeking an Associate or Associate Director with extensive post professional qualification experience in the design and project management of road and public transport schemes to work in our Dublin office. The team is growing and offers excellent opportunities for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will lead and help grow a team undertaking preliminary and detailed designs for major national infrastructure projects including Metrolink, Public Transport schemes and active travel schemes for the National Transport Authority and Local Authorities.
Core Functions
The candidate will be involved in the project management and technical delivery of road/transport schemes from inception through to handover of the completed scheme to the client. This role will primarily be client facing and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of delivery of schemes in either the local or national transport arena. The role is likely to include:
Qualifications and experience
It is anticipated that you will be a Chartered Civil Engineer or an Incorporated Engineer with extensive post professional qualification experience. It is expected that this experience will include the following:
Project management and technical delivery lead of medium to high complexity Roads/Infrastructure schemes, with experience of Transport Infrastructure Ireland/National Transport Authority/Local Authority procedures essential.
Knowledge of technical standards, tendering and contract engagement, technical advisory support, and design review and assurance.
A thorough understanding and application of current design standards including; Urban Street and/or Active Travel Design (i.e. Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets - DMURS, The Traffic Signs Manual, the National Cycle Manual etc.), Highway Geometric Design (i.e. Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) Publications) and also TII and NTA Project Management Guidelines;
Proven knowledge in design, maintenance and supervision of transport related projects. This should include new build, maintenance and assessment of roads infrastructure.
Experience or knowledge of alignment design software packages such as Civil3D/Open Roads/MX and WinDes preferred, but not essential.
Good communication, client handling and interpersonal skills are essential.
Excellent IT skills including MSProject.
