The Opportunity – Build the Future with Us
Step into the field and gain hands‑on experience supporting mining and infrastructure projects across Ontario. As a Hydrogeological Co‑op within our Hydrogeology Group, you’ll contribute to real‑world environmental assessments, dewatering studies, and permitting projects while working alongside experienced hydrogeologists in a collaborative, safety‑focused environment. This role is based in Hamilton or Burlington, with opportunities for occasional work in remote locations.
Your Impact
You will make a difference by:
- Supporting physical hydrogeological investigations for multi‑disciplinary environmental, mining, and infrastructure projects across Ontario
- Collecting, monitoring, and managing groundwater and surface water data under the guidance of senior hydrogeologists
- Conducting field activities such as water level monitoring, surface water flow measurements, groundwater and surface water sampling, and aquifer testing (slug and pumping tests)
- Recording accurate, clear, and well‑organized field notes to support technical analyses and reporting
- Contributing to safe field operations by following WSP safety standards and participating in safety training and site safety planning
- Collaborating with hydrogeology, environmental, and geotechnical teams across multiple offices and business lines
The Skills That Set You Apart
You bring:
- Enrollment in a science‑ or engineering‑based university program (2nd to 4th year), with interest in hydrogeology, hydrology, or water resources
- Familiarity or coursework related to water quality monitoring, sampling procedures, or environmental field methods
- A valid Ontario driver’s license and full‑time access to a vehicle for travel to local field sites
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to health and safety
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and self‑management skills in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $24.00 – $32.25 per hour
MB & ON: $22.50 – $30.25 per hour
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $21.50 – $30.25 per hour
MB & ON: $22.50 – $30.25 per hour
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $21.50 – $30.25 per hour
