Civil Designer

Main Activities and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)
— Carry out assigned civil design and documentation as delegated in support of technical and commercial standards;
— Contribute to our current civil engineering projects through the provision of accurate and timely delivery of documentation; — Communicate effectively with all external (multidisciplinary consultants) and internal (managers, engineers, colleagues
etc.),
— Embody enthusiasm to work with a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary design setting.
— Accountable for the coordination and production of drawings and drafting requirements of the assigned project/s.
— Adheres to prescribed drafting standard and procedures.
— Conscientiously works towards the group’s objectives and adheres to the company’s policy.
— May serve as a project leader when dictated by project size complexity or request
— Provides guidance and mentors to other Civil Designers in the team where possible
— Perform quality reviews of documentation to ensure it is within relevant standards
— Other duties as directed, to help the company provide outstanding service to the company and its costumers.
Qualifications (Minimum and Desirable):
— A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
— A Registered Civil Engineer with the relevant licensure regulatory board
— Ideally 2 to 7 years’ industry experience on Australian civil engineering projects from a selection of sectors, e.g.
commercial, residential, industrial, subdivisions, roads;
— Highly developed skills pertaining to civil design and drafting, ideally in a consulting engineering environment;
— Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement by obtaining regular performance feedback and implementing
change to drive enhanced outcomes;
— Familiarity working with relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3500, NCC etc.);
— Proven civil design capability pertaining to various areas, e.g. earthworks design, pavement levels around/adjacent to
buildings, as well as stormwater, basement and subsurface drainage
— A track record of effectively handling competing priorities, prioritising work and meet tight deadlines;
— Capacity to effectively liaise and coordinate with all internal/external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle;
— Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment, and;
— Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Mandatory experience
— 12D Modelling
— Roads, Earthworks and stormwater drainage design (Australian Standards)
Desirable experience
— AutoDesk Civil 3D
— Experience designing projects in Land Development, Building Civilworks and Infrastructure contexts
— Experience with commonly used drainage software such as DRAINS, XP Storm / SWMM, 12d Drainage etc.
