Associate Director - Wastewater/Hydraulic Modelling

We are looking for an Associate Director with strong experience in urban drainage and wastewater modelling to lead teams, guide project delivery and shape technical solutions for projects of local and national importance. This is an opportunity to take a visible leadership role, apply your engineering expertise and help grow the capability of a dynamic and award winning water team.
You will work with engineers and hydraulic modellers across the UK, supported by our Global Water Team, and contribute to projects for clients including Northern Ireland Water, Irish Water, Severn Trent, Scottish Water Horizons, Welsh Water and Southern Water.

What you will do...
- Lead and manage teams delivering a range of urban drainage and wastewater modelling projects.
- Support the team lead with project delivery, resource planning and review of technical outputs.
- Develop modelling capability using InfoWorks ICM and guide junior colleagues in best practice.
- Provide technical input on drainage assessments and influence efficient delivery approaches.
- Apply independent engineering judgement to solve complex problems and develop practical solutions.
- Lead and support proposal development to help grow workstreams and client accounts.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and capability development across the wider water team.
- Represent WSP at industry forums and relevant conferences.
What we would like you to demonstrate…
- A relevant degree and either chartership or clear progress toward it (ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM).
- Strong and proven experience in wastewater and urban drainage modelling using InfoWorks ICM
- Ability to review, assure and guide the technical work of others.
- Good understanding of Water Industry Specifications, the Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling and relevant British Standards.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
