Engineer

As a Principal Traction Power Engineer, you will lead complex work, influence outcomes on nationally significant projects, and help grow capability in a high‑performing technical team.

In Australia, our Transport and Infrastructure business supports major rail, transit, and city‑shaping projects across the country. Our traction power team works closely with clients, multidisciplinary designers, and project partners to deliver practical, safe, and innovative outcomes across both greenfield and brownfield rail environments.
Key responsibilities
- Lead traction power engineering inputs across the full project lifecycle for major rail and transport projects
- Provide technical leadership, review, and governance for traction power designs and assurance activities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, project teams, and stakeholders
- Mentor and develop engineers, contributing to capability growth and knowledge sharing
- Support bids, proposals, and early‑phase project planning with technical insight
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, high‑quality outcomes
What we are looking for
- Extensive experience in traction power engineering within rail or major infrastructure environments
- Strong technical grounding across AC and DC traction power systems and associated interfaces
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery and influence project outcomes
- Experience engaging with clients and stakeholders in a consulting or similar environment
- Relevant engineering degree and professional standing or progress toward professional recognition
- A collaborative mindset with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
