Join WSP’s Transportation team in Ontario and play a key role in shaping how communities move, connect, and grow. As a Transportation Design Engineer, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects that improve mobility, safety, and sustainability across the province while collaborating with a diverse, multidisciplinary team and a global technical community.
Your Impact
- Deliver transportation design solutions that support municipal and provincial infrastructure projects across Ontario.
- Prepare and contribute to transportation studies, functional designs, and preliminary designs for roads and site developments.
- Develop and review site plans, parking layouts, signage, pavement markings, and traffic management plans in accordance with TAC, OTM, and municipal standards.
- Perform technical analyses including sightline assessments and zoning by‑law reviews to ensure compliant, safe, and effective designs.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, municipalities, and road authorities to deliver creative, practical solutions.
- Prepare technical memos, reports, and presentations to clearly communicate design recommendations and project outcomes.
- Support knowledge sharing and mentor junior team members to strengthen technical excellence across the team.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Degree in Transportation Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, or eligible for registration.
- Approximately 5 years of experience delivering transportation or site‑development projects.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and Bluebeam; experience with Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, or GIS is an asset.
- Familiarity with TAC guidelines, OTM Books, and municipal design standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder engagement.
Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89 800 - $118 900
MB & ON: $81 900 - $112 800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81 100 - $107 700
