As part of our growing Wildlife team in Alberta, you’ll support meaningful environmental projects that help protect species, strengthen ecosystems, and influence responsible development across western Canada. Your work will contribute to decisions that shape habitats, communities, and landscapes for generations.
Your Impact
- Conduct general and species‑specific wildlife field surveys across diverse terrains and conditions.
- Carry out amphibian handling, identification, and salvage activities following regulatory protocols.
- Support bird nest sweeps and contribute to habitat assessments.
- Collect, manage, and enter field data with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist senior biologists with technical inputs for reports and deliverables.
- Apply ecological knowledge to assess habitat characteristics and species presence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project needs and timelines.
- Contribute to safe field practices and continuous improvement of methods and procedures.
Skills That Set You Apart
- A diploma or degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science—or current enrollment in a related program.
- Strong wildlife identification skills (visual, auditory, tracks/sign).
- Knowledge of western Canadian wildlife, habitats, and regulatory frameworks.
- Comfort working flexible hours and outdoors in variable field conditions.
- Experience in consulting or environmental field programs is an asset.
- Eligibility for professional designation (ASPBiol or equivalent) is considered an advantage.
- Experience conducting amphibian salvages and/or bird nest sweeps is preferred.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $51,800 – $68,600
MB & ON: $47,200 – $65,000
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $46,800 – $62,100
