Start your career at the forefront of environmental science and sustainable resource development. As an Early Professional, Geochemistry, you'll work alongside industry-leading scientists and engineers to solve complex geochemical challenges that support responsible mining, environmental stewardship, and long-term community value. Through field investigations, data analysis, and technical studies, you'll contribute to projects that help clients make informed decisions while protecting natural environments across Canada.
Your Impact
- Support geochemical assessments for mine waste, tailings, water quality, and environmental management projects.
- Assist with field investigations, sample collection programs, and monitoring activities while championing WSP's strong health and safety culture.
- Analyze and interpret geochemical, hydrogeochemical, and environmental datasets to support project planning and decision-making.
- Contribute to Acid Rock Drainage and Metal Leaching (ARD/ML) assessments and water quality evaluations that help mitigate environmental risks.
- Support environmental baseline studies, permitting initiatives, and regulatory submissions for mining and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare technical figures, data summaries, tables, and reports that communicate scientific findings clearly and effectively.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and technical specialists to deliver integrated and innovative solutions.
- Grow your technical expertise through mentorship, professional development opportunities, and exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects and clients.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree in Geochemistry, Geology, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience gained through co-op placements, internships, academic research, or professional employment.
- Foundational understanding of geochemistry, water quality, Acid Rock Drainage (ARD), Metal Leaching (ML), and environmental geoscience principles.
- Experience working with scientific or environmental datasets using spreadsheets, databases, or analytical software.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Willingness to participate in fieldwork and travel to project sites as required.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to meet project-specific health, safety, and site access requirements.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $30.80 - $40.80
MB & ON: $28.10 - $38.70
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $27.80 - $36.90
