WSP is currently initiating a search for a Assistant Vice President, Environmental Planner and market lead to support our company’s growing State and Local Sector Team. This is a full-time position located in any of our offices located in Florida, with a hybrid work location as an option.
This is a market development position that requires advanced experience in environmental, sustainability and resilience programs typical within government, with knowledge of permitting requirements, funding options, private sector/utility coordination, etc. This experience may include financial valuation, capital development, and change management elements of program delivery. You will collaborate with other experts from across WSP’s primary sectors (Environment, Power, Transportation, etc.) to help grow the market and meet the stated needs of our growing portfolio of clients through the delivery of consulting services.
Help grow business in Florida and the southeast US by leveraging existing networks and growing your network through participation in key activities and events.
Support clients in the private utility sector, and in state and local governments, in working through various program delivery challenges.
Participate in multiple projects, helping to deliver project commitments through effective coordination with internal colleagues, external resources and agencies, and consulting team partners.
Contribute to a diverse team of experts working to advance the Earth and Environment business line by addressing the myriads of challenges facing clients.
Support clients and participate in client meetings to understand and meet requirements for projects.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, physical sciences, or other technical discipline.
10+ years of relevant experience in government, a consulting technical advisory firm, or an infrastructure sector organization.
Experience working with a spectrum of environmental agencies (state and federal), coordinating with a range of stakeholder groups (government, advocacy, private sector, etc.), and working directly with community members to achieve the desired outcome
Attention to detail; commitment and skills to identify and detect errors; commitment to thorough quality reviews and checks; and commitment to accuracy, correctness, and excellence.
Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post graduate education in a technical discipline or business.
Experience at a progressive public sector agency
Experience developing or supporting the required processes that support all phases of capital project development.
