Make your mark where it matters most. Join our Global Mining team as a Junior Mechanical Designer and help engineer the future of mining infrastructure. From underground mine backfill systems and tailings disposal facilities to ore handling and processing plants, you'll contribute to projects that support safer, smarter, and more sustainable mining operations.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, gain valuable field experience, and grow your technical expertise while supporting impactful projects in both local and global mining markets.

Your Impact

• Design and develop 3D models, mechanical layouts, piping systems, and plant configurations using AutoCAD and Plant3D.
• Create accurate P&IDs, isometrics, process flow diagrams, and supporting design documentation.
• Support feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects with high-quality technical deliverables.
• Conduct site visits to mining operations to verify existing conditions and gather field information that improves design outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, clients, and project teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
• Contribute to innovative approaches that improve project efficiency, safety, and performance.
• Champion WSP's strong health, safety, and environmental culture in all aspects of your work.
• Build your technical capabilities through exposure to diverse mining infrastructure projects and multidisciplinary teams.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• Diploma or higher education in Mechanical Engineering Design or a related discipline.
• 0 to 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with mining industry exposure considered an asset.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Plant3D for industrial facility and piping design.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, AutoPLANT, Civil3D, and Microsoft Office considered an asset.
• Understanding of mechanical systems, piping layouts, and industrial plant design principles.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project environments and communicate technical information clearly.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project and client sites as required.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $29.50 - $39.10
MB & ON: $26.90 - $37.10
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $26.60 - $35.40
