A little more about your role…
As a Rail Architect, you’ll contribute to the production of drawings, models and design documentation for rail and station projects. You’ll gain experience working across a range of tasks and project stages, learning how architectural solutions are developed within a multidisciplinary environment.
You’ll collaborate with engineers and designers from various disciplines to help deliver coordinated, high‑quality architectural outputs.
In this role, you will:
- Support the production of architectural drawings, plans and BIM models
- Assist with multidisciplinary design coordination
- Help prepare schedules, reports and technical documents
- Take part in internal design discussions and reviews
- Learn how large‑scale, complex infrastructure projects are developed and delivered
- Work closely with senior team members to build your technical and design skills
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
People Management:
- Able to manage junior colleges and provide guidance and support where necessary.
- Manage design tasks and deliverables and report on progress against the design programme to the project lead. Report on the progress and risks associated with the programme.
- Follow company values and exhibit appropriate behaviours.
- Manage time efficiently and assist / input into team meetings to review design programme.
Business & Financial
- Support the Project Lead in developing the project execution plan, including financial planning, and forecasting resource.
- Input on the project programming and financial planning.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the construction / architectural industry.
- Must be a recently qualified Architect.
- Working knowledge of UK building regulations and national standards.
- Experience with CAD/BIM tools (Bentley OBD/Aecosim,MicroStation, Revit or similar)
Knowledge & Skills:
- Technical design knowledge / skills in UK construction methodology.
- Architectural working experience in rail, transport or other complex architectural design
- Experience of working as part of an architectural design team managing and delivering Tender and Construction Stage works packages.
- Have an ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively
